When working from home, individuals who are self-employed or who manage a limited company can claim the cost of their furniture for their home office via Capital Allowances. However, it is important to ensure that only the portion of the furniture used for business purposes is claimed, and any private usage is excluded.
Warning - unlike furniture acquired for a commercial premises, the furniture for your home office is unlikely to be regarded as Plant & Machinery. As a result, it may not be possible to claim HMRC's temporary Super Deduction on costs incurred until 31 March 2023.
